Biography

The fine craftsmanship of Melville Holmes extends not only to his own paintings and drawings but to decorative painting, color and design consultation and development, and the restoration of oil paintings and other art objects.

His breadth of knowledge in areas of art history and decorative styles, the chemistry and technology of painting materials, and principles of art conservation has resulted in the publication of several scholarly papers and qualified him to take on various kinds of projects, large and small.
