Biography

Kay O’Rourke works in oil and mixed media large scale drawings. Her work celebrates moments and memorializes them. The images can be about joy, humor, anger and even sometimes fear. She completing a commission of 30 paintings on the History of the Spokane River Gorge from the beginning of time up to Expo 74. These works now hang permanently in “The Spark Center” in Kendall Yards. They represent her way of using “Magic Realism.” She is drawn to naturalism, lyricism and myth.
